Born to Be Xiongben: The Journey of a Dog, a Family, and a Way of Life

Born to Be Xiongben: The Journey of a Dog, a Family, and a Way of Life

The story began on an ordinary day.
At a small kennel, a frail little dog quietly walked toward them — that was their first meeting.
It wasn’t the one they had planned to take home.
It was the one who chose them.
As if he already knew — this was his family.

His name was Xiongben — Xiong meaning “bear,” and Ben meaning “origin” or “from within.”
From that day on, this little life became forever tied to the name “Born to Be Xiongben.”

But fate had its first trial waiting.
Soon after arriving home, before he could even settle in, Xiongben fell ill — first pneumonia, then coronavirus, then parasites, and finally, distemper.

For two long months, every day meant another hospital visit, another injection. Over a hundred in total.
His weight dropped, yet he never gave up.
He still wagged his tail, played when he could, and looked up at his mom with bright, brave eyes.

One day, she said, “He’s not just a dog — he’s a little warrior.”
And so the name was sealed: Xiongben.
“Born to be a bear — strong enough to face anything, destined for blessings.”

When he finally recovered, life seemed to glow again.
Together, they began a long journey of travel and living — a nomadic path filled with tenderness and discovery.
From that moment on, home was no longer a fixed place, but a series of beautiful, fleeting landscapes.

Over seven years, they traveled through more than 40 cities.
Each one carrying traces of Xiongben’s paws and scent.

They opened a small shop in Anhui,

lived by the sea in Huizhou;

Walked through forests in Shanghai,

chased horses on the grasslands of Zhangbei;

Watched shadow plays in Tai’an,

picked bamboo leaves in Xuancheng;

Visited the ocean world in Wuxi,

bought breakfast like locals in Wuhan;

Wore flower crowns in Wuyuan,

celebrated his fifth birthday on Nanao Island;

Tasted authentic Qingyuan chicken,

and admired ancient tulou in Fujian Longyan.

Each stop was a surprise life offered along the way.
And through these experiences, a brand began to take shape —
a brand built on stories, warmth, and gentle living.

“Born to Be Xiongben” became not only a record of travel,
but an expression of how life can be lived with love, curiosity, and simplicity.

They transformed their journeys into meaningful creations:

Practical outdoor gear for camping and travel;

Journals and stamps for recording memories;

Pajamas and scent toys designed for Xiongben;

Charms collected from every city;

And travel lists filled with stories and warmth.

They also wrote over 60 articles about caring for dogs with sensitive stomachs —
not just sharing experience, but recording resilience and growth.

Through those words, you see more than a dog —
you see a family learning to live slowly, tenderly, and fully.

Today, Xiongben is healthy and joyful, a gentle traveler with bright eyes and a knowing smile.
In every photo, he tilts his head as if saying:
“Life can be this beautiful.”

He’s no longer the weak puppy fighting to survive —
he’s the beating heart of a story that continues to grow.
He teaches what companionship means, what perseverance looks like, and what it truly means to be home.

For them, travel isn’t escape — it’s discovery.
Every place, every ocean, every stranger met along the way,
has become part of the Xiongben family’s most precious memories.

In the end, they turned it all into the soul of their brand:
“Born to Be Xiongben” — the journey of a little bear,
and a philosophy of living gently, curiously, and wholeheartedly.
